new illustration section/ nice review

roll up roll up roll up! how’s about this then! if you click the link that says banalpig.com/illustration you will be taken to an as yet fairly barren part of my website where i will be posting drawings and art which are distinguished from the comics side of my work as one off or more arty images. this is an attempt to put together something resembling an illustration portfolio, i’ll let you know how i get on, but maybe bookmark it, why not?.

elsewhere, over on the always excellent forbidden planet blog, there’s a good review of Ethel Sparrowhawk’s Terrible Hangover (quite sick of typing that). if you needed a second opinion before purchasing said comic, consider this it. did i mention i was unemployed?

Ethel’s too cheap!

i posted my first internet-sold ES’sTH today, and it costs 90p. At the moment i’m only charging 75p on top of the £4 comic price for p&p, so i’m mugging myself, especially considering the cost of the envelope. Therefore, i’m putting the price up to £5, but not yet; i want to give you early adopting pig lovers a chance to jump on the bandwagon, so i’m going to keep it at £4.75 until the end of the month, so get shopping!

ES’sTH Available Now!

That’s right! Your very own copy of Ethel Sparrowhawk’s Terrible Hangover is just a few clicks and a few days away. Firstly, click here, i’m confident you’ll work the rest out, you’ve been on the internet before.

p.s. Thought Bubble was really good, thanks to everyone who bought a comic from us, or came and said hello.

Ethel Sparrowhawk’s Terrible Hangover

ethelcover

yes! finished! Ethel 2, Ethel Sparrowhawk’s Terrible Hangover is done and off to my dad to print. Unless he lets me down badly, it will be premiering at thought bubble, just 2 weeks hence. see you there!
In honour of this momentous occasion i am going to sell the last ever, slightly scuffed copy of Ethel Sparrowhawk 1 for a discounted £3.50 to the first person who emails me at banalpig@googlemail.com with the subject “last ethel sparrowhawk 1 please!”. Ethel 1 will definitely not be reprinted in its current incarnation, so if you would like this future piece of comic history, email me quick!

ethel sparrowhawk again

alright la’s! 3 weeks until e-day; that is, the day where i have to have finished ethel sparrowhawk. it’s gonna be tight, so i’ll probably be quiet on here til its over. until then, here’s a page where ethel is looking at some old family photos. this is inkwash rather than digitally coloured to differentiate the photographs.
